Once you have purchased your course through the DUC you will be able to work through the theory section of your course at home, in your own time. You would need to complete all the knowledge development sections, quizzes, and exams before your pool sessions.
At the start of your course you will need to attend our orientation session where we will discuss course logistics as well as your gear requirements with one of our DUC instructors.
The next step will be the confined water sessions in the pool to learn skills required to take your first dive in the open sea.
What is included:
- Academic sessions – Online study at your own pace and in-person sessions with your instructor
- Confined water (pool) sessions
- Sea dives
- All scuba equipment included for the duration of the course.
- Students are urged to purchase their own masks, fins and wetsuits to suit personal preferences.
- Dives to a maximum depth of 18 meters (Maximum depth limit for 10 and 11 year olds:12 meters)
The best part is you will get 3 months DUC membership (for non-members) which includes access to the DUC dive centre, or R500 discount for existing members. With that you will get your food, dives and gear hire at members prices! (Open Water Courses & Non- members only).
