Freediving

What is Freediving?

Freediving is the practice of holding your breath when diving underwater without the use of breathing equipment, such as a scuba tank.

Freediving is so much more than just a water sport. The mental and physical benefits are endless and there is ongoing research into it’s therapeutic effects on the mind and body. Freediving offers a meaningful way to get outside, destress and connect with nature and like-minded people.

If you are a complete beginner, join our regular introductory workshops for freediving, teaching the basic principles and foundational skills.

Certified freediving courses will be run on an adhoc basis. DUC runs a number of courses throughout the year. When you’re ready to take the plunge and join our dive tribe, you can jump on board with us at any time. Your course material is all based online and it is very easy to start. At the DUC we believe that doing your courses through our instructors ensures that you become confident, comfortable and competent in the water: A SAFE freediver.

Dive Charters & Vouchers

If you are a DUC member you are entitled to a discount if you dive with an approved Dive Charter. This is given in the form of a DUC Dive voucher which you can only purchase from the club. You do need to come into the club to purchase the voucher.
