[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Dear DUC and DSBC Members
Clubhouse relocation update
Over the past few weeks your PWSC committee members have been very busy, spending heaps of their own, unrewarded time, negotiating with the Durban Point Development Company on the way forward for PWSC with regards to the eventual relocation of the clubhouse into the new permanent facilities.
At the same time, the fit out contract for the new clubhouse was awarded to Reed Simpson Construction and they are currently busy on site adapting the available space for our eventual occupation.
The planned occupation date of the new clubhouse is the 1st of June 2020 which means that we will experience disruption of the normal clubhouse activities during late May and early June as the relocation takes place.
Please take note of the following:
Relocation of the club parking.
During the next two weeks, the club parking will be relocated to the open area between the current clubhouse and the promenade. The deadline for the parking relocation is 29th February 2020. This is due to the agreement with the developer to use this land for parking being terminated pending further development of the land space.
The first thing that you will see next week is some fencing taking place in the new parking area and around the clubhouse. We will keep you informed on the progress and of any new access procedures by emails, Facebook postings and SMS’s.
Att all ski storage rack holders
The relocation of the parking area will also necessitate the relocation of ALL the current racks to the new site. Plans have been drawn up and contractors appointed to construct new rack storage facilities on the new site. Everyone that currently has a rack will be accommodated.
PLEASE NOTE:
All skis must be removed from all racks by Wednesday 26th February as the current shelters and containers will be removed on Friday 28th February.
We anticipate that you will need to make alternative plans to store your skis for a month
We have been through this process before and when we last did it, over 50 skis were left behind when we moved to the current site. Please spread the word far and wide and if you have a mate that you know has not been to the club or used his ski for a while, please let him/her know of this plan.
A surf ski subcommittee headed by David Aikins, has been formed to assist with the storage rack relocation. Should you have any queries in this regard, please contact David: david@hsdur.co.za
