Dear DUC and DSBC Members
Although we have a generator at the club, loadshedding does affect the club’s internet connection as well as the cell tower signals in the Point area which are already of poor quality.
This contributes to the slow authorisation process of the credit card machines which in turn slows down the queues at the tills as members wait for the credit card payments to go through before moving on and the next person in the queue can order.
To speed up our service points we would like to encourage members to make use of the MyClubAccount internet payment platform where you can load funds into your club membership card to use at the club till points as well as to pay for upcoming club events like the Club Kids Xmas Tree which will be held on Saturday 18th December this year.
One thing to remember – MyClubAccount interacts directly with the club server so that funds loaded are instantly available to you at the club. However, this does mean that during load shedding in the Point area (block 15), the club server will be offline and you may not be able to load funds using the platform. In these instances, you can also load your membership card with funds at any of the till points when you are at the club.
Funds loaded on the cards are instantly available and can always be accessed even during load shedding.

PWC Kids Holiday Beach Camps
If you are wondering what to do with your kids in the school holidays, Beryl will be running 2 x Kids Beach Clubs in conjunction with PWC. The first one will be 13 & 14 December and the 2nd camp will be 5 & 6 January 2022. The camps will be run from Point Watersports Sports Club from 08h30 to 16h00 each day. The camp is targeted for children between 7 – 12 years old, and the cost of each camp is R700.00 per person.
This is an all-day program and therefore really value for money when you consider the other holiday programs out there. Supervision, activities, meals and juice are included.
We will be adhering to COVID-19 regulations:
- All children must arrive with a mask.
- Temperatures will be taken on arrival.
- The groups under each supervisor will be smaller.
- Most of the activities are outdoors. Whilst indoors, social distancing and mask wearing will be compulsory.
- There will be a regular sanitising routine.
- Please do not send your children to the Kids Beach Club, if you feel the precautions are not adequate or the child/children are not well.
Activities are weather dependant and could be subject to change. The proposed programme is as follows:

Boat inspection weekend 27th and 28th November
On this weekend, the club safety officers will offer their services to assist club boating members with their annual boating Certificate of Fitness (COF) for 2022.
Boat inspection fees for this year are:
R500 for 6m and under
R700 for over 6m
If you intend to make use of this club service to members and attend the boat inspection weekend, please send an email to jackie@pwsc.co.za requesting your invoice for the boat inspection fees.
Please Check out https://www.durbanskiboatclub.co.za/safety/ for the requirements and paperwork so you can start getting your act together before the inspection dates. Trying to do it all on the day inevitability leads to disappointment and delays.
For any queries in this regard, you can contact Skinny: derrickferreira56@gmail.com or Ryan: ryan@durbanyamaha.co.za
We look forward to seeing you at the club
The PWC Team
