Kids Holiday Beach Camp January 2022
If you are wondering what to do with your kids in the school holidays, there is still space on the Beach Camp running 5 & 6 January, 2022. The camp will be run from Point Watersports Sports Club from 08h30 to 16h00 each day. The camp is targeted for children between 7 – 12 years old, and the cost of each camp is R700.00 per person.
This is an all-day program and therefore really value for money when you consider the other holiday programs out there. Supervision, activities, meals, and juice are included.
We will be adhering to COVID-19 regulations:
- All children must arrive with a mask.
- Temperatures will be taken on arrival.
- The groups under each supervisor will be smaller.
- Most of the activities are outdoors. Whilst indoors, social distancing and mask wearing will be compulsory.
- There will be a regular sanitising routine.
- Please do not send your children to the Kids Beach Club, if you feel the precautions are not adequate or the child/children are not well.

Safety at Vetchs
The onset of the holiday season will see an increase in the use of Vetchs beach and basin by members and the public. Please read the attachment on Safety at Vetchs so that we can ensure an accident-free holiday season.
Please note that Vetchs is an officially designated boat launch site and one of the busiest along the KZN coast. To keep bathers and boats separated, there is a designated bathing area in the Vetchs basin which we encourage members to use. The no bathing signs you see are there to keep bathers out of the boat launch area which can be hazardous to bathers’ well-being.
Water quality at Vetchs Beach
Due to social media reports doing the rounds, many members are contacting the club office concerned about the water quality at Vetchs beach. We have put a link on the PWC website https://pwsc.co.za/ where you can check out the Beach Water Quality, otherwise you can use this direct link: http://www.durban.gov.za/Online_Tools/Pages/Beach_Water_Quality.aspx
Introducing new PWC Food Order App
Sitting on the beach and feeling a bit peckish but the thought of standing in the kitchen queue doesn’t appeal?
On Thursday 16th December, PWC will be going live with a Food Order app that will enable you to order selected menu items without having to join the kitchen queue. Initially the menu items on offer will be very limited and will only be available on a takeaway basis from the small kitchen in the Bar 2 area.
The immediate aim is to use the support received from the members and experience gained by operating this service during the holiday season to allow the club to refine and expand the offering in the new year and eventually even be able to offer this service for the main kitchen sit down items.
Please see the attachment on how to download and start using this app. Should you have any issues in registering or using the app, please send an email to dave@pwsc.co.za.
Club Entertainment Whatsapp group.
With more available free time on your hands over the festive season, you may want to keep abreast of the club entertainment offerings over the Festive season and beyond. If so, send a message to Lizell on 083 383 3081 requesting to be kept updated on the club entertainment activities. Only Admins can post to this group so you won’t have more irrelevant chatter to contend with by joining this group.
See you at the Club
