Dear DUC and DSBC Members
Compliments of the season and all the best for 2022 from the club committees, management and staff.
With the recent removal of the curfew regulation, we hope that we are now well on the road back to normality and that this year will see the club make positive inroads into achieving its potential since moving to the new location. Now all we need is a vast improvement in the weather!
Please note that the club will be open every day until the 16th of January 2022. The club will be open on the coming Mondays and Tuesdays:
Tuesday 4th January
Monday 10th January
Tuesday 11th January
Thereafter the club will revert to being closed on Mondays and Tuesdays as members return to work and education.
Durban Ski Boat Festival April 2022:
After an enforced two-year absence, we are confident, excited and shivering with anticipation that the annual DSBC Festival will take place in 2022 over the period Friday 29th April to Sunday May 1st.
There is a limit of 250 boats and 700 anglers for this year’s event and with the pent-up demand of not having a Festival for the past two years, we are expecting entries to be fully subscribed for this year’s Festival.
Attached are the details and entry forms. Pay particular attention to the benefits for early entries before 28th February and 31st March.
For out-of-town members and participants, there is plenty of apartment rental accommodation available in the Point area within walking distance to the DSBC clubhouse and launch facility. Participants in the event will be able to park their boats on the beach for the duration of the event and 24 hr security will be provided by the club.
For Point area accommodation enquiries:

Angie 0828172957 angie@thepointwaterfront.co.za
As the Festival takes place over a holiday long weekend, we recommend booking accommodation now as these modern apartments are popular with holidaymakers.

Kids Holiday Beach Camp January 2022
If you are wondering what to do with your kids in the school holidays, there is still space on the Beach Camp running 5 & 6 January, 2022. The camp will be run from Point Watersports Sports Club from 08h30 to 16h00 each day. The camp is targeted for children between 7 – 12 years old, and the cost of each camp is R700.00 per person.
This is an all-day program and therefore really value for money when you consider the other holiday programs out there. Supervision, activities, meals, and juice are included.
We will be adhering to COVID-19 regulations:
- All children must arrive with a mask.
- Temperatures will be taken on arrival.
- The groups under each supervisor will be smaller.
- Most of the activities are outdoors. Whilst indoors, social distancing and mask wearing will be compulsory.
- There will be a regular sanitising routine.
- Please do not send your children to the Kids Beach Club, if you feel the precautions are not adequate or the child/children are not well.
